Hello, my name is Laine, and I'm thrilled to have you here!

For over 22 years, I have been a devoted wife and mother of five children, some of whom have diverse and complex needs. This has meant putting many of my career and life plans on hold to support my children in accessing the care they require. I identify as a gentle parent and am constantly seeking ways to better understand my children and their needs to adjust my parenting style accordingly. My experiences have led me to become an advocate for many families with additional needs, and I've acquired the skills necessary to represent my children's voices, empower them and myself, and support other families in accessing the resources they need.

I've been volunteering as a Peer Supporter with the local charity Families and Babies (FAB) for twelve years and have been an Association of Breastfeeding Mothers (ABM) Breastfeeding Counsellor on the National Breastfeeding Helpline (NBH) for over three years. I'm now coordinating the ABM peer supporter course, managing a team of markers and the students on that platform. All these roles have been voluntary and have given me a sense of purpose outside of motherhood, allowing me to gain valuable skills and confidence. I am passionate about supporting families and I am proud of my achievements to be able to work at the top level of the lactation industry as a qualified International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).

When I have some child-free time, you'll often find me on the beach, going away for the weekend with my girlfriends, enjoying tasty food, and perhaps sipping on some gin!
