    Supporting your baby's transition Earthside

This is a unique and special time for you and your baby, and it deserves to be treated with patience, support, and calmness. Whether it's your first time or not, this course is designed to empower you with knowledge and choices for your post-birth experience.

We'll talk about your options for support, and healing after birth, and what to expect from your newborn. You'll learn about breastmilk and receive practical suggestions for feeding your baby, so you can feel confident and empowered to breastfeed.

Together, we'll create a personalised postnatal plan that will support you and your family during those early days and weeks at home.

This interactive and informative course is available in the comfort of your own home, we can do it virtually or in person for you and a partner and it's best taken in the last trimester of pregnancy.

You're welcome to ask as many questions as you like, and meeting me before you give birth means that if you do need breastfeeding support, we'll already be acquainted!

The price for this empowering course is only £85, and all home Golden Hour courses within 10 miles of BH9 postcode are included. You can purchase the course here.

If you're located farther away, a small charge of 50 pence per mile will be added.

Postnatal doula services

If you need postnatal support during the first year, my hourly rate is £20ph within 10 miles of the BH9 postcode. I support in sessions of no less than 3 hours, although I can offer a more bespoke package of support.

You can call on me in the first year of your baby's life and I can support you with things like

  • cluster feeding evenings
  • twilight support package
  • triple feeding support with expressing your milk
  • support after a cesarean section
  • general support in your home.

Many families who I meet as an IBCLC form a connection with me, which then turns into me being a postnatal doula for the family in their home. It is so lovely that I can be there for you to support and guide you through these early days of parenting and beyond.

Please note that as an IBCLC and Postnatal Doula, I keep clear boundaries between the two roles. While I'm considered a lay person as a doula, as an IBCLC, I provide support for the clinical management of lactation and must keep comprehensive records of my consultations. If you require a bespoke service that combines the two, please feel free to get in touch.

  • Initial consultation

Let's chat! In a 30-minute call, we can discuss your postpartum care needs and explore options for my support during your transition into parenthood.

There's no obligation to commit, we'll just see if it feels right for us to work together.

  • Antenatal home visit

Let's meet in your home and create a plan that works for you! We can chat about your wishes and options for postpartum care, and make a detailed plan together.

It usually takes around 2 hours, and it's a great opportunity for me to get to know you and your family better.

  • The Golden Hour antenatal course

The Golden Hour is the first hour your baby spends earthside. It's a precious time for you and your baby, where calm, patience and support are key. Unless there's a medical reason, uninterrupted time with your baby after birth can help you learn their needs and create a stronger bond.

My goal is to empower you to make informed choices after birth and help you reclaim your experience if things don't go as planned. We'll explore your options for support, healing, rest, and safety following the birth, as well as what to expect from your newborn baby.

This interactive workshop provides knowledge about breastmilk and offers practical suggestions for giving your baby the best start in life. Together, we'll create a postnatal plan to support you and your family in the early days and weeks at home.

The course is available one-to-one in your home, best taken in the last trimester of pregnancy, and lasts a couple of hours. You can ask as many questions as you like, and meeting me before the birth means we'll have already established a connection. This way, if you do need breastfeeding support later on, we'll already have met!

  • IBCLC new-born reassurance visit

I offer a reassuring home visit during the first week of your baby's life that lasts up to two hours. During this visit, I'll check in with you to see how you and your baby are doing with feeding. Together, we'll look for signs that breastfeeding is going well and work on positioning and attachment to ensure that you're both comfortable and confident.

I'll also help you set up your "breastfeeding nest" - a comfortable and supportive space for you and your baby to feed in. And don't worry, you'll receive written notes and any necessary suggestions to help you along the way.

  • Baby care and baby preparation

Let's use this time to make sure you're fully prepared. We can review your birth bag, set up your postpartum space, and go over any last-minute concerns you may have. We can also cover important baby care topics such as newborn sleep, nappy changes, and bath time. All from the comfort of your own home.

  • Postnatal Doula Support

I offer postnatal doula support for around 3 hours per day.

My services include supporting the birthing parent's recovery, partner support, preparing nutritious meals and snacks, providing emotional support, light housework, running errands, caring for pets, tending to additional children, and offering companionship and encouragement as you care for your baby.

As a basic level breastfeeding peer supporter, I will be available to help with breastfeeding, but if more complex support is needed, I will signpost you appropriately or provide additional lactation consulting services for an arranged fee.

I will follow your wishes as discussed before the birth, and I will provide all the necessary resources and food as part of my support package.
